The free community event will celebrate with the music of Latin Grammy nominee Mr. Pauer and new-cumbia sound makers El Conjunto Nueva Ola

As part of its grass roots initiative, AlBorde.com created the “Day of the Dead Music and Art Festival” in 2005. Since then, the festival has supported numerous local artists and students, and has presented the cultural celebration with a Latin Alternative edge. Which is why for its 7th annual Music and Art Festival, AlBorde.com has enlisted the talents of Latin Grammy nominee Mr. Pauer and El Conjunto Nueva Ola.

Dressed in Mexican luchador masks, spandex pants and flamboyant wrestler capes, El Conjunto Nueva Ola is a motley crew that fuses classic cumbia beats with melodies from popular American hits such as Blondie’s “Funky Town”. Their presentation at the Day of the Dead event will be kicked off by a live DJ set from Latin Grammy nominee Mr. Pauer and famed local music mixer DJ Cheebo.

In true AlBorde.com fashion, the 7th Annual “Day of the Dead Music and Art Festival” supports independent talent and cultural awareness with a community focused event. An altar and art competition curated by local muralist Steven “Chatismo” Amado will present the work of emerging artists from the Los Angeles artist’s community, and a children’s coloring contest and photo booth sponsored by Wells Fargo will keep the younger attendees entertained.

Guests will also enjoy complimentary food and beverages such as tamales, sweet bread, coffee and hot chocolate while local vendors make their Day of the Dead merchandise available to the crowd.

Event sponsors are El Clasificado, Wells Fargo, Ford of Southern California, and Verizon Wireless.
