The Mar Vista Family Center

The mission of the Mar Vista Family Center (MVFC) is to provide low-income families with quality early childhood education, youth enrichment, and educational tools to create positive changes in their lives and in their communities.

Info
The Mar Vista Family Center is committed to the achievement of three goals: the development of leaders, enrichment of education and the promotion of personal growth. The center is funded completely by donations and allows its participants to grow and thrive through leadership and educational opportunities.

Parents do not have to pay to enroll their children in the Mar Vista Center Preschool. Through the parent-participation preschool, parents with children in the preschool program are encouraged to attain their preschool teaching credentials if they wish by attending UCLA Extension courses in Early Childhood Education.

Teens in the program lead interactive group activities like dance and music classes for younger children and middle-school adolescents. Some of these teenagers have been at the Mar Vista Center since they themselves were in the preschool program.

Through these programs and services, Mar Vista actively works towards its goal of promotion of personal growth for all of its participants.
