The multiplatform media company and the renowned Children’s Hospital Los Angeles join forces to celebrate two Latino teen patients with surprise appearances from singers Chiquis Rivera and Kevin Ortiz

Los Angeles, CA (January 21) – It all started with a quinceañera celebration and a charity event for a teenage cancer patient. One year later, on January 24, the Spanish publication El Clasificado reunites with the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles to organize a birthday party for two adolescent Latinos affected by devastating diseases.

Ricardo Hernández, who currently faces a battle with cystic fibrosis, a genetic disease whose life expectancy ranges in the early 40’s; and Kevin Mercado, who has been diagnosed with leukemia less than a year previously, are both teenagers. Each, only being 16 years of age and tireless in their struggle to persevere, will be able to enjoy having a party with music, video games and soccer, passions they both share greatly.

In order to make their dream day come true, the event will include a video game bus, a L.A. Galaxy station, and music with Erika Vidrio, radio personality for La Raza station that this time will serve as the DJ for the two brave young teenager’s party.

Also included as a great surprise for the honorees and all in attendance, the event will feature a special appearence by superstars Chiquis Rivera, American Regional Mexican singer and the eldest daughter of Latin Grammy nominated singer Jenni Rivera, and a performance by Kevin Ortiz, Latin pop singer and brother of singer and songwriter Gerardo Ortiz.

As master of ceremonies, Jorge Miramontes, news anchor for “Al Rojo Vivo” from Telemundo 52, will charm and entertain the attendees, many of which will be family and friends of the teens.

The event is to be held at the Ralph M. Parsons Dining Terrace located at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, and will have a cake for each patient, all of them decorated by Maritza’s Cake, as well as gifts from companies like Riot Society, which will donate shirts for all the attendees and DVD’s from the movie “Book of Life” will be donated by Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment to the two adolescents. Other companies that have also donated their time and services to make this event possible include EC Hispanic Media and Los Compadres, a philanthropic support group at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
