EC Hispanic Media WON all seven awards they were nominated for at the 2014 National Association of Hispanic Publications conference.

On September 17-24  the National Association of Hispanic Publications (NAHP), announced the winners of their 2014 Jose Marti Publishing Awards at their annual convention in Illinois. EC Hispanic Media had much to celebrate picking up all seven awards that they applied for this year for El Clasificado, elclasificado.com and El Punto. The awards are the most comprehensive Hispanic media awards in the United States with NAHP serving companies in 39 states and spanning 41 different industries.

At a time when print is seeing an international decline, the NAHP are proud to celebrate the fact that ‘2013 marked the highest point EVER for audited Hispanic newspapers and magazines’ and with ad revenues for Hispanic publications reaching over 1 billion dollars every year since 2002, it is safe to say, the Hispanic print industry is still strong.

The NAHP annual awards aim to reward the companies that show ‘Outstanding achievement in the Hispanic publishing industry’. El Clasificado won gold for “Outstanding Circulation Program” and silver for “Outstanding Classified Section”, both for the 13th year running. “It is such an honor to celebrate the continued success of El Clasificado and to be rewarded for our determination year after year,” said Martha de la Torre, co-founder and CEO of El Clasificado. ” These awards reflect the growing diversity of our company, with new publications like El Punto and our core product, El Clasificado, with a more established presence in the community, as well as an ever-growing presence in the digital world.”

Elclasificado.com also won silver for Outstanding Publication Website for the 5th year in a row. As the digital world grows and overtakes print as the biggest publishing platform available to us, we find more and more of the Hispanic audience online. Digital growth is vital to the continuing success of EC Hispanic Media and equally as important as print.

The other four awards went to El Punto, a Spanish-language monthly publication launched by EC Hispanic Media for the Hispanics of Los Angeles just two years ago. The local editorial is currently distributing 100,000 monthly copies and provides content to educate, inform and entertain the different personas within the vast Latino community that reside in Los Angeles. El Punto won gold for “Outstanding Community Service” (original story in Spanish), silver for “Outstanding Front Page Design” and “Outstanding Cultural Article” and bronze for “Outstanding Political Article”.

EC Hispanic Media is thrilled to celebrate the achievements of the newer and less well-known brands as they represent the vision to reach out to the entire diverse Latino community in the United States. This includes tech savvy Latino millennials, Hispanic small business owners and Latina Moms and families to name a few.
