The Consulate of Mexico in Los Angeles in collaboration with Su Socio de Negocios organized an economic forum about import-export strategies with an impressive line-up of a panel of experts

Los Angeles, CA. April 17, 2014. The Su Socio de Negocios Expo, “¡Vive México! Invest in our Neighboring Country,” which took place on April 10th at the Double Tree Hotel located in the City of Commerce, served its goal in gathering hundreds of business owners to benefit from exhibits, an educational seminar, and unlimited networking opportunities.

Before the panel of experts began its session, New York Life gave an overview on small business insurance solutions to attendees. Also, Hispanic entrepreneurs were able to create relationships, socialize with key decision makers, and visit many exhibitors’ booths.

Carlos M. Sada, General Consul of Mexico in Los Angeles and guest of honor, impressed the audience with his powerful welcoming message: “Successful events like this are what motivate interaction between Mexico and the US, particularly California. Mexico’s current situation is taking off and investing in the neighboring country is an extraordinary option”, said the Consul.

The focus of the expo was to educate small business entrepreneurs on how to build opportunities with Mexico. This topic was led by Pascual Castrellón, president of Los Angeles Produce Market Association, José Godoy from Godoy Express and Javier Martínez, owner of Paquí Tequila, in addition to the participation of Ricardo Villarreal, Deputy Trade & Investment Commissioner at ProMéxico. They all shared their successful stories and their strategies to achieve an effective import-export relationship south of the border.

Only through hard work and dedication came Pascual Castrellón’s success. “Forty years ago my family started circulating one orange crate. But now we circulate around 70 trucks of fruits and vegetables per week. It was not easy, but we adapted to change and learned to overcome obstacles,” said the president of LAPMA.

This dynamic Su Socio de Negocios event was possible thanks to our main sponsors the Consulate of Mexico in Los Angeles and New York Life as well as California Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and Covered California, El Clasificado, and EC Hispanic Media.
