El Clasificado gathered a team of over 60 riders at “Ship-to-Shore” Tour de Cure, raising over $13,000 to support the American Diabetes Association

Long Beach, California. Another year, and the fight continues. For its seventh consecutive year, El Clasificado was proud to team up and join the Tour De Cure with one goal in mind: to support the American Diabetes Association (ADA) in their efforts to stop diabetes.

Fueled by that commitment, the Hispanic multimedia company geared up this past Sunday, April 26, 2015, at the Queen Mary in Long Beach, emerging as one of the top Hispanic companies in the nation with over $50,000 in funds raised throughout the years.

This 2015, El Clasificado not only fulfilled its goal of surpassing the number of team riders to 60, but also raised in excess of $13,000 towards the fight against diabetes – a chronic disease that affects 1 in 7 Californians.

“Participating in this event has been a moving experience for El Clasificado and we are proud to be a long-time supporter of our community,” said Joe Badame, co-founder and COO of El Clasificado.

El Clasificado’s captain and avid cyclist continued by affirming his unconditional support to the American Diabetes Association, knowing that “through this collaboration we’ll continue fighting this metabolic disease that affects nearly 26 million people in the US and 2 million Latinos by supporting diabetes research, education, and advocacy programs.”

For cycling events, the Tour de Cure is unique in its essence. It is a celebration of commitment, fight, and dedication, not only because it includes riders at all levels of ability, but it also celebrates riders with diabetes, known as Red Riders®.

The Tour de Cure takes place in 44 states in the country and helps raise awareness among 79 million people that are at risk of having the chronic disease. As with every year, participants are able to choose between 8, 11, 32, 61, or 100 miles, depending on their physical capacity. Everyone that rides receives food and water in order to regain their energy at several checkpoints in an event that encourages health and fitness for a great cause.

El Clasificado believes in supporting and improving the lives of people affected by diabetes, and the Tour De Cure made for a very fun day to show that support.

Share El Clasificado’s philosophy! “The ride was great, but the opportunity to help others in need is even better.”
