The Children of the Night home is open to helping rescue child prostitutes throughout the United States. Their hotline is ready and able to help these desperate children 24 hours a day. They provide taxi/airline transportation nationwide for America’s child prostitutes who wish to escape prostitution and live in their home. Their staff works closely with law enforcement to rescue children from vile, dominating pimps. Children of the Night features an on-site school and college placement program. After youngsters complete their rigorous and comprehensive program of academic and life-skills education, caseworkers are available to provide ongoing case management to hundreds of graduates.

Volunteer programs
The Children of the Night shelter volunteer program offers volunteers the opportunity to get involved at the Children of the Night home in Van Nuys, California. Volunteers are invited to host activity workshop, assist in administration with clerical work, represent the organization at various public speaking events, or professional services to the program free of charge. The WOW Professional Volunteer Program allows professionals across America the opportunity to get hands-on involvement and make an impact on the lives of children living in underfunded and undeveloped shelters in their area anywhere in the country. WOW is a cost effective means of providing resources to America’s teens that are forced to live on the streets. Read our feature article about “Children of the Night” published on El Punto magazine.
The Alumni program
Every Children of the Night resident is offered long-term support through their alumni program. Some of the services offered to alumni include résumé preparation, job placement, college placement, assistance with applying for financial aid for college, financial assistance to purchase books or school supplies or help obtaining Supplemental Social Security Benefits for the totally disabled. They offer long-term social services for those who just can’t break the cycle of drugs, prostitution, multiple pregnancies or reliance on welfare. Children of the Night graduates who have successfully completed the program continue to receive support services and many become donors to the Children of the Night program. Often times they will participate in Children of the Night publicity and serve as spokespersons at in-house events.
