With 32 million eligible voters, Latinos represent the largest minority in the electorate for the first time in the United States, making outreach in across the nation more important than ever, especially in Ohio cities and districts with high Hispanic populations.
And with Latinos making up 2.7% of eligible voters across the state, getting the excitement necessary for collecting their votes is becoming a campaign necessity, even if it hasn’t been easy for many politicians. Especially, as more Hispanics are showing up as first time voters, it’s never been more important to capture this interest than now.
In no small part, this can be attributed to be a lack of voter outreach as 49% of all eligible Latino voters said they were never contacted by a political party or candidate.
