El Clasificado (dba EC Hispanic Media) announced a new collaboration with Bet Tzedek — one of the nation’s most respected nonprofit legal services organizations — to bring clear, accessible, and trustworthy legal information to Latino communities across Southern California.

The partnership combines Bet Tzedek’s deep legal expertise with EC Hispanic Media’s extensive reach among immigrant families through its El Clasificado, Vívela Magazine, and AbogadoMall.com publications, as well as its social media and podcast platforms.

For decades, Bet Tzedek has provided free, confidential, and licensed legal services to low-income individuals regardless of their immigration status.

“Everything we do is free and confidential — whether someone needs to understand their rights or needs full representation in court. Our attorneys are licensed by the California State Bar, and we exist to serve people who often feel they have nowhere else to go,”
Diego Cartagena, President & CEO, Bet Tzedek

Addressing an Urgent Community Need

With immigration policies shifting rapidly and housing pressures intensifying, the need for trusted legal help has become urgent. Cartagena noted that the number one concern among Latino clients today involves immigration questions — from pathways to residency or citizenship to fears of detention.

“The courts and attorneys are often the last line of defense,” he said. “Everyone has rights, and it’s important to talk to a licensed attorney who can protect those rights.”

This collaboration responds to a widening justice gap. According to the 2025 Legal Services Corporation Justice Gap Report, low-income Americans did not receive any or enough legal help for 92% of their civil legal problems that substantially affected them in the past year.

The impact is even more severe in immigrant and Spanish-speaking households, where language barriers, financial limitations, and fear of fraud often prevent families from accessing legal assistance.

What the Collaboration Includes

Under the collaboration, Bet Tzedek will contribute articles, videos, and expert insights on topics including:

  • Immigration rights

  • Tenant rights

  • Elder abuse

  • Small business protections

  • Wage theft

EC Hispanic Media will distribute this content across all its platforms to ensure vital legal information reaches families who need it most.

A Partnership Focused on Real Impact

El Clasificado CEO Martha de la Torre emphasized the human impact of the partnership:

“Our readers are workers, parents, and small business owners who come to this country with hope. Many don’t know where to turn when they face an eviction, a wage theft case, or an immigration crisis. Partnering with Bet Tzedek allows us to connect our community with real help — from licensed attorneys who treat them with dignity and protect their rights. This is the type of collaboration that strengthens families and keeps our community informed and safe.”

Together, Bet Tzedek and El Clasificado aim to ensure that every Latino family — regardless of income or immigration status — has access to trusted legal guidance, clear information, and a pathway to justice.
