US Latina moms, in many cases regardless of how many generations have passed since their first ancestors arrived in America, often face a daunting task that comes from wanting their children to retain the culture of their heritage countries, while their children are also becoming acclimated with the norms of American culture and behavior.

Despite these difficulties, and the possible identity duality of their children, US Latina moms are often able to maintain the ties to their roots via family activities while also displaying their own understanding of American culture by embracing roles they stereotypically have not been a part of previously.
