Why hispanics make purchases

The EC Hispanic Media study, “US Hispanics and Facebook: The Generation of Growth,” reveals decision influencers that motivate Latinos to “like” Facebook Pages

Los Angeles, CA – January 30 – Today, EC Hispanic Media announced new key findings in its “US Hispanics and Facebook: The Generation of Growth” report. These findings further reveal what motivates US Hispanics to “like” a page in Facebook and to follow a brand in other social media platforms.

Revealing one of the main “like” motivators and decision influencers, the study notes that discounts and promotions drive greater amounts of “likes” than content, which is a motivator for only 31% of US Hispanic Facebook users.

“For many years, we’ve seen that US Hispanics are bargain shoppers from the success of our online classified marketplace,elclasificado.com, and in print through El Clasificado. This study now gives us the hard data to confirm that not only is this true, but that the same shopping behaviors also translate to social media” said Martha de la Torre, CEO of EC Hispanic Media.

“We’ve always worked to connect sellers and advertisers with buyers within the US Hispanic community and this intelligence will allow us to deliver even greater results for our clients while also expanding their presence as well as products and services through social media the right way,” continued de la Torre.

“Understanding what the motivators are for US Hispanics to like pages or make purchases in social media is key for the success of brands and businesses. In general, while these advertising platforms are still evolving, the US Hispanic market has flocked to social media and companies, with the right information, have a great opportunity to see a large impact on the returns for their advertising dollars” said Elias Chavando, Managing Partner of Applied Marketing Strategies.
