El Clasificado Becomes the Largest Spanish Weekly Magazine in the Western United States

LOS ANGELES, CA- April 8, 2004El Clasificado reaches 160,000 weekly verified circulation by expanding for the third time in a year. The latest expansion is in the growing Latino areas of Lynwood and Compton. El Clasificado has now become the largest Spanish weekly magazine in the Western United States and the second largest in the entire nation.

As a result of this expansion, Auto Plaza, an auto dealer supplement to El Clasificado, has also expanded its weekly circulation to 160,000 becoming the nation’s largest auto publication in Spanish. Auto Plaza brings together the Spanish speaking community of Southern California with the auto dealers targeting the Hispanic market.

Commenting on this expansion, Martha C. de la Torre, publisher and founder of El Clasificado, stated “This has been a breakthrough year for us, both because of the phenomenal growth and the national recognition we recently received at the 2004 NAHP (National Association of Hispanic Publications) Print Awards.” El Clasificado obtained a total of six awards, including Best Classified Paper and Best Circulation Program.

In addition to the NAHP awards, El Clasificado has been awarded for achievements in business and services to the Latino community by other business organizations such as the United States Small Business Administration, the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the Latin Business Association, the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year and the National Association of Woman Business Owners.

El Clasificado is a free Spanish weekly publication that blends classified advertising with community service editorial. El Clasificado has a weekly verified circulation of over 160,000 and is distributed throughout Los Angeles County, Orange County and the Inland Empire to over 650,000 Spanish speaking readers.
