(Norwalk, CA) – Thousands of families from the San Fernando Valley and nearby areas are expected to enjoy a vibrant celebration of Hispanic culture at the Latino Expo, taking place at the lively Panorama Mall this Saturday, October 26, from 10 am to 4 pm. Organized by the Greater San Fernando Valley Chamber of Commerce for more than 26 years, the event honors the traditions, folklore, and lifestyle of Spanish-speaking residents in the San Fernando Valley and surrounding communities.
Featuring exciting entertainment, including four youth mariachi groups, a folkloric dance company, face painting, and children’s crafts, the Latino Expo celebrates the diverse history of the Hispanic communities that include 800,000 Latinos living in the San Fernando Valley with more than 34.2% of the population preferring to speak Spanish at home according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
Fuyumi Hashimoto, the Chamber’s Communications and Special Events Director, emphasized, “The SFV Chamber of Commerce offers networking opportunities, workforce training to keep businesses competitive, and advocacy at city, county, state, and federal levels.” She added, “This event aims to connect businesses and professionals with Hispanic residents in the area, offering music and entertainment that reflects their culture.”
In addition to the celebration of heritage and culture of residents, the expo also offers additional resources for attendees in the form of health screenings for attendees as well as opportunities to connect with local businesses that serve the region, something noted by Frank Zepeda, Marketing Director of El Clasificado. “We’ve proudly supported The Greater San Fernando Valley Chamber for more than 17 years, recognizing is as one of the most active chambers in Los Angeles County. We share some common goals in that we work to celebrate our readers heritage and also help their communities thrive by connecting local businesses with families in the area on a more personal level.”
Among the ways that El Clasificado will be looking to establish these connections to help Hispanic communities thrive in 2025 are special publications geared around culturally relevant events as well as annual events including the Quinceanera.com and Su Socio de Negocios expos as well as job fairs around the Greater Los Angeles area. These events will offer sponsorship opportunities for businesses and organizations, as well as valuable resources and information for Spanish speakers.
