The founder and CEO of El Clasificado, was featured in the broadcast segment “Soy el Sueño Americano” on Univision 34 Noticiero conducted by Cecilia Bogran.

Mrs. de la Torre shared her entrepreneurial story behind building the largest weekly Spanish classified magazine in the U.S. With an initial investment of $350,000, now El Clasificado’s revenue reaches $20 million dollars, 500,000 magazines distributed weekly and employs 170 people of which 95% are Latino.

El Clasificado’s success story is more impressive considering its survival of two economic crises while maintaining an average annual growth rate of 20% since its inception. “We almost went bankrupt if not for my husband who had two jobs and because of my parents who gave us money…” Martha says when sharing the challenges she went through in order to keep El Clasificado afloat “I had to sale my house and move to my parents’ house.”

Martha de la Torre’s enterprising spirit, her need for taking calculated risks, and her thorough understanding of the Hispanic market have brought both Martha and her company impressive achievements.
