Three generations of Latino families came together to celebrate a tradition that continues to evolve. At the same time, dozens of local businesses showcased the latest in quinceañera fashion, entertainment and services.
ONTARIO, Calif. — August 10, 2026 — More than 1,500 people gathered Sunday at the Ontario Convention Center for the Quinceanera.com Expo & Fashion Show. The event brought Latino families and businesses together for one of Southern California’s largest celebrations of the quinceañera tradition.
For 71-year-old Teresa, a quinceañera once meant gathering family, friends and neighbors in a backyard. Families shared homemade food, an uncle played guitar and children played nearby.
For her granddaughter Laura, who turns 15 next year, the celebration may look very different.
Three Generations, One Tradition
Laura attended Sunday’s expo with her mother, Ana Lucía of Fontana, her two younger sisters and her grandmother. Together, three generations of Latinas explored how one of the community’s most cherished traditions is changing. However, its meaning remains much the same.
“They are different times now,” Lucía said. “There are so many beautiful arrangements and services, and we want her to feel special. But we are keeping the tradition of celebrating our daughter coming of age and starting to mature. It is just a different time, but the intention is the same.”
Throughout the expo, families met with businesses that offer services for quinceañeras. These included gowns, venues, décor, catering, cakes, photography, entertainment and transportation.
In addition, a fashion show featuring the latest quinceañera styles was one of the day’s highlights.
Families Make the Celebration Their Own
Vendors said today’s families are putting their own stamp on the celebration. For example, many are choosing elaborate floral arrangements, rancho-inspired themes, marquee tents and choreographed dances.
Families are also adding personal details while finding creative ways to manage their budgets.
“For us, the quinceañera has always represented family, culture and opportunity,” said Martha de la Torre, founder and CEO of El Clasificado. “Through Quinceanera.com, we’ve created a place where families can hold on to a meaningful tradition while making it their own, and where local businesses can connect directly with the community they serve.”
Connecting Families and Local Businesses
El Clasificado launched Quinceanera.com in 2006. Since then, the platform has grown beyond online planning resources.
Today, its live expos and fashion shows give families a chance to meet face-to-face with businesses that serve the quinceañera market.
The Ontario XV event took place on Sunday, August 9. The location also reflects the importance of the Inland Empire’s growing Latino community.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, about 68.6% of Ontario residents identify as Hispanic or Latino.
Next Stop: Long Beach
Families who missed the Ontario event will have another opportunity this fall. The Quinceanera.com Expo & Fashion Show will come to the Long Beach Convention Center on October 25, 2026.
Once again, the event will bring quinceañera families and vendors together under one roof. Families can explore fashion, entertainment, services and ideas to help plan their celebrations.
