The versatile Quinceañera Expo captivated over 700 eager Latina girls and their families with 30 party vendors and the participation of Nuestra Belleza Latina 2013, Marisela de Montecristo.

With a packed 2015 Expo calendar ahead, and in light of the recent success of the Expo in San Fernando Valley, the free event entered Bakersfield with the goal to execute another record Expo and Fashion show. This main objective became gold as the Marriot Bakersfield Hotel was once again filled with people in unexpected numbers.

Opening the doors at 12:00pm sharp, the Expo and Fashion Show in Bakersfield welcomed attendees eager to get their quinceañera planning done as well as over 30 party service providers ready to engage with the attendees. The vendors boasted a variety of services that included cakes, transportation, photography, chambelan suits, stunning quinceañera dresses, makeup, entertainment options, and more.

However, it cannot be denied that the more than 700 attendees came crowded to see Marisela de Montecristo, “Nuestra Belleza Latina 2013,” a beauty pageant winner of a reality show produced by Univision. This time, she joined the Quinceanera Expo as a role model rather than an American beauty figure. “I’m very excited to be here today in front of so many enthusiastic girls ready to fulfill their dreams,” said the Salvadorian host. Finishing her speech with more inspiring words, Marisela sought to motivate the girls in the audience to fight for their dreams and to never give up. Her words resonated deeply with the audience as the young girls in the crowd view her as a genuine Latina inspiration.

Another highlight from the Expo and Fashion Show was the new trendy contest of becoming a “Princess for a Day.” This contest motivated girls to engage with through social media using the event’s hashtag #XVExpoBK15 in hopes of being selected. As a result, there were over 700 posts on Instagram of girls wanting to win the grand prize of a full makeover courtesy of Sexy Makeup Studio. At the end, the lucky winner was 14 years-old Alyssa Espinoza, who engaged with through social media the most. Beautiful Alyssa mentioned on stage how grateful she felt for been chosen as the “Princess of the Day.”


Marias Bridal Quinceañera dresses fashion show.

As expected, the fashion show was the most anticipated part of the expo. The latest dress trends showcased were from Marias Bridal, the leading Quinceañera shop in Bakersfield. The owner of the boutique, Luz Inguanzo, expressed her appreciation of the Bakersfield Expo and Fashion Show as a business opportunity for her. “This is the first time I’ve participated in an Expo and I am beyond excited about being able to make a connection with my community and spread the word about my business.”

Miguel Renovato and Lorena Lopez, two young talents from the Las Vegas talent academy LenteVision, engaged the audience with their dynamic and joyful energy as they introduced Griselda Esquivel,’s Bakersfield Magazine Cover Girl. Griselda was also in charge of leading the fashion show as she was one of the models showcasing Marias Bridal dresses.

The Expo and Fashion Show of which featured a fabulous runway show, incredible raffles that included a room makeover by El Capitán Furniture, free makeup sessions, and also a perfect surprise dance performance by Spotlight Dance Academy, proved once again to be spectacular for all of those who attended.
