NORWALK, Calif. — Su Socio de Negocios Expo celebrated its 20th anniversary in Norwalk on April 15 with a free Spanish-language event for Latino entrepreneurs.
The event focused on business education, access to capital, artificial intelligence, and community connection. It also reflected the growing role of Latino-owned businesses in California’s economy.
The expo was co-hosted by the Norwalk Chamber of Commerce and El Clasificado at the Norwalk Arts & Sports Complex.
A space built for business owners
For many small business owners, the expo offered more than information. It created a place where they could ask questions, meet experts, and find resources in Spanish.
The event included workshops, exhibitor booths, and networking opportunities. Attendees also had access to business information in a setting that felt direct and welcoming.
As a result, entrepreneurs could learn about services, tools, and ideas that may help them start, manage, or grow their businesses.
Why this expo still matters
Su Socio de Negocios grew out of El Clasificado’s mission to support Spanish-speaking clients. From the beginning, the goal was simple: help business owners find practical information they could use.
Today, the brand hosts two expos a year. It also offers educational breakfast workshops on timely issues affecting Latino entrepreneurs.
Over the years, the expo has built a loyal audience. At the same time, it continues to attract new entrepreneurs who want business education in a clear and accessible way.
Workshops with practical value
This year’s event focused on topics that many business owners are facing now.
One workshop explored the use of artificial intelligence in business. The session showed how AI can help with communication, daily operations, and growth.
In addition, the Small Business Development Center presented a workshop on business loans and access to capital.
Javier Madera Camacho also spoke at the event. He is known for training Latino businesses in the United States and Mexico. His presentation focused on customer service and how it can support income and long-term success.
AI will remain part of the conversation
The focus on artificial intelligence will continue at the next Su Socio de Negocios breakfast workshop.
The Spanish-language workshop is scheduled for May 20 from 7 to 10 a.m. at El Clasificado’s offices, located at 11205 Imperial Highway in Norwalk.
The session will continue the conversation about how small businesses can use new tools in simple and useful ways.
Latino businesses are driving growth
The event also took place at a time when Latino entrepreneurs continue to shape California’s economy.
According to a January 2026 CalMatters commentary, Latinos in California generated more than $1 trillion in economic activity in 2023. The same commentary noted that Latino GDP in the state grew more than twice as fast as non-Latino GDP.
For that reason, events like Su Socio de Negocios Expo remain important. They connect business owners with education, local organizations and companies that understand their needs.
Support from sponsors and partners
Sponsors for the 2026 expo included T-Mobile for Business, Paychex, the Small Business Development Center, Clean Power Alliance of Southern California, and the Norwalk Chamber of Commerce.
The Norwalk Chamber of Commerce has supported the event for the last several years.
“Events like Su Socio de Negocios Expo create valuable opportunities for small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs in Norwalk to gain practical knowledge, connect with resources, and build meaningful relationships,” said Caren Spilsbury, CEO of the Norwalk Chamber of Commerce. “They help strengthen individual businesses while contributing to a stronger local economy.”
“It is important that T-Mobile participates in Latino business expos because T-Mobile helps businesses in a big way,” said Brian Martinez of T-Mobile. “We teach how to apply AI in business communication, commercial transportation navigation, and other communication services for businesses.”
“Twenty years later, Su Socio de Negocios Expo continues to prove that language-specific business education still matters,” said Martha de la Torre, CEO of El Clasificado dba EC Hispanic Media. “The need is still there, the trust is still there, and the community continues to respond.”
