Six young quinceañeras from the Los Angeles County Foster Care system were able to celebrate their Quinceañera this past Saturday, October 3rd, thanks to the generosity of more than 25 sponsors. Quinceañera.com, in a partnership with the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services, made it possible to host a party at an outdoor park at the Castaic Sports Complex. As a result of the Covic-19 pandemic, all precautionary measures were in place to keep everyone safe.

The party for the six young ladies consisted of family members in their cars, decorated with balloons, honking, and cheering for the girls from a distance. Despite the pandemic, it was a through and through Quinceañera, with everything you would expect from such celebration. There was a birthday cake, a pastor to officiate the ceremony, a waltz dance, lots of gifts, and even the traditional delivery of the doll.

Brands such as General Motors, Porto’s, and Twisted joined a cause that would not have been possible without the generosity of Luna’s Dresses, who once again donated all the dresses to the girls, as well as makeup, accessories, and some gifts. Special mention goes to Dee Lee Designs, who helped secure donations and a good number of participating brands.

Family members cheering from their cars“For the sixth consecutive year, we wanted to be there for the girls who dreamed of having a special day, despite the pandemic,” said Martha de la Torre, co-founder of El Clasificado and Quinceañera.com. “We want to thank all the sponsors for having made possible the dream of giving visibility to a cause as important as the children of the Foster Care system. More families are needed to take care of children in difficult situations”.

Araceli Iglesias, a transformational speaker, and Shafik Saleh, a professional choreographer, hosted the event. Both donated their time and joined the long list of sponsors that included: Telemundo, Tacos Mexico, My Quince, The Crafty Candle Shop, The Blushing Details, Rodan + Fields, A Touch of Light, Nisie Enchanted, Portofino International Party Supplies, Sugarfina, Props by Rojas, Lunas MakeUp Studio, Mis Quince, LX Pix, SoulCare Society, Makeup by Myralynn, The Graceful Approach, EC Hispanic Media, Babydolls events, and La Guelaguetza, to name a few.
