A Sunday That 10 Quinceañeras Will Never Forget

10 girls in foster care lived out their dream birthday party in an event sponsored by Quinceanera.com and the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services

It was a blast, a dream come true for 10 underprivileged Quinceañeras from the foster care system.

Quinceanera.com and the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services teamed up to sponsor a great birthday party that will be remembered for years. Held on Sunday July 22 at the LA Celebrations Banquet Hall in Los Angeles, California, ten girls from the foster care system celebrated their quinceañeras in front of a full house.

Made possible due to the generosity of more than 30 sponsors, the girls were able to look their best thanks to the donations of Luna’s Dresses who provided the gowns, makeup, hairstylists, and accessories alongside others who also provided the flowers, cakes, transportation, and presents to go along with a traditional fifteenth birthday extravaganza.

Serving as the fourth annual occurrence off the celebration, the event, which was emceed by Telemundo hosts Quique Usales and Jessica Maldonado, also helped raise public awareness regarding the need for foster and adoptive parents for children in these difficult situations.

“We are extremely happy and proud that we, through the generosity of many sponsors, are able to provide a party of this magnitude to recognize such an important milestone in the Hispanic culture for these Latinas,” said Martha de la Torre, cofounder of El Clasificado and owner of the Quinceanera.com brand. “We really want to help children in the foster system, both in drawing attention to the need for more foster parents and by helping them reach their dreams. We hope this event could help fulfill some of their dreams today.”

After enjoying a trip on the luxury cars provided by Boxer Squad, the girls were later received by the mariachi Sol de Veracruz in a garden with appetizers provided by Tacos Mexico and Majestic Donut Bar where a long line of people waited to enjoy their pastries.

Once ready for the banquet to start, the Quinceañeras made their grand entrance, received by the music of La Mega 96.3’s DJ 2lips and were blessed by Pastor Pompilio Ramirez. Live entertainment was also provided later on in the night by singers Lenin Ramirez and Lexy Luna.

“It was a great party”, said Lucy Luna, the designer of the girl’s dresses. “I’m blessed to be included in this event. This is the fourth year I have participated and I do it wholeheartedly. I do not have daughters and for me it is as if God sent me the daughters I did not have,” she added.

The event was also sponsored by Men’s Wearhouse, Porto’s Bakery, Neutrogena, Marissa’s Cake, Dance & Fitness 4 Life, Twisted, Don Roberto Jewelers, Expo Invitations, Kelly’s Beauty Skin Care, Casa Blanca Floral Designs, Roca Creations, Lunas MakeUp Studio, Diaz de Baile, Got Milk, The Emporium, Ziba Beauty, 15 radio and Spektek Entertainment.
