Along with low costs of living and impressive sports teams, Texas has become a state that is easy to envy – especially if you’re Latino. While every city in Texas has its perks, Houston has made its way to the forefront as a metropolitan hub for Latinos. In fact, the U.S. Census Bureau reports Houston is home to over 2.6 million Latinos – 40% of the city’s entire population. Houston also boasts the 4th largest Hispanic population of any city in the U.S.

With such strength in numbers, El Clasificado realized an opportunity to expand their reach outside the state of California. Additionally, one of El Clasificado’s brands is EmpleosLatino – a free job board entirely in Spanish. Although Los Angeles is our most frequented location for job seekers, our second most popular is Houston. While El Clasificado and EmpleosLatino have hosted 3 job and career fairs for Latinos in the Los Angeles area, they have yet to venture outside state lines – but that will all change on August 26, 2021.

El Clasificado is proud to present “Feria De Trabajo: Houston” – a virtual job and career fair hosted entirely in Spanish. With nearly 175 RSVPs to date, the goal of this fair is to help connect employers and recruiters with blue-collar Latinos who may struggle to find employment when the COVID-19 pandemic has halted the vast majority of job fairs.

Hosting a job fair in a virtual space not only expands accessibility, it helps job-seekers consider employment in locations other than where they already live. It also expands the talent pool for employers – attracting applicants from all across the U.S.

A virtual job and career fair is already unique, but what truly sets “Feria de Trabajo” apart is our emphasis on Spanish content. Many mainstream job and career fairs are English-only or English-focused – often alienating blue-collar Latino workers who thrive speaking Spanish. The event will consist of presentations by qualified speakers on applicable topics, virtual job booths with listings, and the ability for job-seekers to communicate directly with employers. Our team also goes above and beyond by creating FREE resumes for attendees who may not already have one. This hands-on process not only helps increase participation at the event, but increases the amount of information we can provide to employment sponsors.

Currently, El Clasificado has partnered with the following organizations in the Houston area for this event:

We are also thrilled to welcome qualified Spanish speakers to present on a variety of topics applicable to our audience. So far, we have confirmed three speakers:
