Martha de la Torre is the CEO of El Clasificado, dba EC Hispanic Media. Founded in 1988 as a weekly Spanish-language classified publication, ElClasificado.com is the largest Spanish-language classified marketplace in the U.S.
With Quinceanera.com, Su Socio De Negocios, and EmpleosLatino.com, EC Hispanic Media provides a marketplace for business-to-business as well as business-to-consumer media opportunities in the U.S Hispanic market.
El Clasificado was named Minority Small Business Champion of the Year by the SBA for helping small businesses thrive in Los Angeles. The Company has also been an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year finalist for Los Angeles. In 2020 El Clasificado won an Editor and Publisher award for helping over 500 struggling small businesses during the pandemic with free advertising and marketing tools. In August of 2022, the company received the Southern Regional Business of the Year Award from the California Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
Ms.de la Torre currently serves on the Board of the Loyola Marymount University Latino Alumni Association. She formerly served on the Board of Regents for Loyola Marymount University and was Chair of the International Classified Marketplace Association headquartered in Amsterdam.
Ms. de la Torre is a graduate of LMU where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. She joined Arthur Young & Company where she became a CPA and audit manager specializing in banks and businesses targeting the U.S. Hispanic market. In 1986, she became the Chief Financial Officer of La Opinion, the largest Spanish language daily in the United States.
Ms. de la Torre resides with her husband and El Clasificado co-founder, Joe Badame, in Rancho Palos Verdes.
