Free community event celebrates quinceañera tradition, family planning, local businesses, and Latino culture
NORWALK, Calif., June 3, 2026 — Nearly 1,000 people attended the Quinceanera.com Greater Los Angeles Expo and Fashion Show on Sunday, May 31, at the Marriott Convention Center in Burbank.
The free community event brought families together for a day of fashion, planning, culture, and celebration. Attendees came from Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties to meet vendors, watch a live fashion runway, enjoy court performances, enter giveaways, and explore resources for one of the most meaningful traditions in Latino culture.
Families Came Ready to Celebrate
The event also drew media attention. CBS Los Angeles covered the expo on-site and interviewed attendees, as well as Alexia de León, Social Media Manager for Quinceanera.com.
During the event, reporters asked families and organizers whether concerns about immigration enforcement could affect attendance at community celebrations.
“The answer from attendees was overwhelmingly no,” said Martha de la Torre, CEO of El Clasificado dba EC Hispanic Media. “Families came ready to celebrate, plan for their daughters’ future milestones, and enjoy a positive community experience. We remain committed to providing safe, welcoming events where families can gather with confidence.”
A Cultural Tradition With Economic Impact
More than a party, the quinceañera remains a powerful cultural and economic tradition. It brings together several generations of family. At the same time, it supports many businesses across Southern California.
These include venues, photographers, caterers, entertainment companies, dress designers, choreographers, beauty professionals, jewelers, transportation providers, and retailers.
Quinceanera.com launched in 2006 as a party-planning section inside El Clasificado, the Latino classified publication founded in 1988. As demand grew, the brand became a dedicated bilingual platform for the quinceañera market.
“It became clear that this audience deserved its own unique brand,” said de la Torre. “What started as a section of our publication has grown into a complete bilingual platform that helps families plan one of the most meaningful celebrations of their lives.”
A Bilingual Platform for Families and Businesses
Today, Quinceanera.com connects families and businesses through its website, social media channels, editorial content, live expos, fashion shows, vendor directories, and digital planning tools.
For many vendors, the expo is also a direct way to connect with families who are actively planning celebrations.
“There’s a lot more energy at these events than at bridal shows,” said J. Carrillo, Manager of Total Wine & More in Valencia, Calif. “When I talk to mothers and daughters, you can see the excitement in their eyes. Some are planning for this year, while others are already thinking years ahead. It shows how much these moments still matter to families.”
Attendees Found Planning Resources in One Place
For attendee Jessica Barka of Tujunga, Calif., the expo offered a chance to begin planning her daughter’s quinceañera for next summer.
Her family explored photographers, venues, gowns, entertainment options, and choreographers. Also, they were able to meet dozens of vendors in one location.
“I wanted to have all my family there and see the transition of me becoming a woman,” said Barka’s daughter. “That’s what a quinceañera means to me.”
Quinceanera.com Expo Season Continues
The Burbank event was the second stop of Quinceanera.com’s 2026 Expo and Fashion Show season.
Next, the series continues in Ontario, Calif., in August, serving the Inland Empire. Then, Quinceanera.com will host its Long Beach event in October, serving the South Bay and surrounding communities.
Admission to all Quinceanera.com expos and fashion shows is free and open to the public.
