The traveling expo’s Los Angeles event featured the appearance of renowned designer Mitzy and his collection of Quinceañera dresses

Los Angeles, CA May 23, 2013- True to the city in which it was hosted, the Quinceanera.com Expo and Fashion Show in Los Angeles was full of glitz, glamour and entertainment. Presented by El Clasificado, the free party planning event took place on Sunday, May 19, 2013 at the historic Shrine Expo Hall, where Mexican designer to the stars Mitzy showcased his collection of baroque-inspired Quinceanera dresses and where “La “Leona”, lively host to Univision Radio’s “Buso con el Abuso” programming, took part of the onstage activities by sharing her latest song “Call Me A Dreamer”.

The glitz and glam was proportioned by the fashion show sponsors who- along with Mitzy, presented a wide collection of gown options for Quince celebrations. Over 1,200 attendees enjoyed the four-part Quinceañera fashion show, where Moda 2000 highlighted short and traditional gowns in a two-section show, and where Raul Corona showcased dresses that followed his signature over-the-top use of embellishments and voluminous skirts.
“A family finds a way to celebrate a Quinceañera regardless of the economy,” said Mitzy, acknowledging the ever-growing popularity of the celebration. “If they don’t have money they’ll refinance their home or ask for padrinos, but they do it. Now my business is more focused on Quinceañeras because it leaves great profits.”

Aside from fashion, the Quinceanera.com Expo was also very helpful in connecting families with the party products their celebration requires. “It’s difficult to connect with the public,” said Lori Shahbazian, owner of Panos Pastry. “But this event makes it easy because so many people are here.” National brand Goya was also present at the event as a returning sponsor, offering attendees a taste of a unique menu option for Quinceañeras receptions.
“We like this event very much,” said Guadalupe Mendez, who—along with her daughter, skipped out on a volleyball tournament in order to be present at the show. “We found out about it through the Quinceanera.com Magazine. It’s very helpful.”

With each Expo, El Clasificado publishes an issue of Quinceanera.com Magazine and hosts an 8-week promotional contest to find the Cover Girl for the issue. The Los Angeles release was graced by the image of Shamaria Martinez, 16, from Bell Gardens and winner of the contest. “The experience has been unlike any other,” she said during her runway presentation at the Expo. “I encourage all girls to enter because it can help your families in the planning of your Quince.” As the winner, Shamaria was given the choice between a Quinceañera dress and a cash prize.

Prior to the event, the multi-platform party-planning brand prompted attendees to promote the event using its official hashtag, #XVexpo, in order to be entered to win any of the events prizes, including Quinceañera dresses, an iPad, and various sponsor raffles.

El Clasificado, Curacao & Nikon, Goya, and BTB Event Productions sponsored the event. The next Quinceanera.com Expo and Fashion Show will take place on Sunday, June 30 at the Crowne Plaza Anaheim Resort. RSVP here.
