Acoustic Sessions are One of Los Angeles’s Must-Attend events
Los Angeles, CA – June 6, 2007 — Al Borde, the Latin Alternative entertainment publication, hosted the second of four “Acoustic Sessions” concerts on Friday, May 25th at the exclusive “Al Borde Lounge” located in the company headquarters. Local Spanish rock group Pastilla performed an impeccable acoustic set for an intimate crowd of just over 150 bilingual and bicultural “twenty-something” fans of both the rock group and the publication.
Guests poured in throughout the evening and were enthralled by the hour-long acoustic set delivered by Pastilla. The young trio performed some of their better known hits such as “Vox Electra”, “Energia”, “La Sexta Extinción” and “Solamente”.
Another highlight of the evening took place in the upstairs section of the Al Borde lounge where DJ Santi delivered excellent mashups which entertained everyone before and after Pastilla’s performance. DJ Santi, a well known figure in Los Angeles’s Latin Alternative music scene, has played a key role in introducing the freshest Latin Alternative musical talent through his mixes, and kept the music-loving crowd dancing well into the night.
“This is the second concert we present at the Al Borde Lounge and we couldn’t be more thrilled with the overwhelmingly positive reaction from fans,” exclaimed Al Borde publisher Martha de la Torre. “These particular concertgoers have such eclectic tastes, and we are so happy to offer them something that we enjoy as much as they do. This concert series serves as a 10-year anniversary gift for Al Borde readers and its publishers.”
The Al Borde “Acoustic Sessions” concerts also give local community artists the opportunity to showcase their work: the May 25th event included an art gallery featuring the work of local artist Steven Amado.
Event sponsors Monster Beverage Co. and Jack Daniel’s kept the crowd plenty hydrated throughout the night and eagerly anticipate returning as sponsors for the next Al Borde Acoustic Sessions concert. The next event will take place at the Al Borde Lounge on July 27th; the featured performer for this concert will be announced soon.
Al Borde (www.alborde.com) is a free bi-weekly publication that reaches young and trend-setting 18- to 34-year-old Hispanics. The publication is rapidly becoming a leading Latin Alternative multiplatform company that offers advertising opportunities through sponsored events, section sponsorships, street team promotions, web sites, and mobile services. Since 1997, Al Borde has maintained a high standard in design and content quality, and was named “Best of Show” this year by the Association of Free Community Papers (AFCP).
