Los Angeles, CA –January 5, 2009 –Al Borde’s “Acoustic Sessions” concert on Friday, December 5 drew a record crowd of Latin alternative rock fans who couldn’t miss a free live performance by renowned Latin alternative indie rock group Curanderos at the Casa del Mexicano in Boyle Heights.

The free concert presented by Al Borde brought together dozens of young, trend-setting fans of the publication, Latin alternative entertainment industry members and more, a large majority of whom responded to Al Borde’s e-newsletter, growing e-blasts and mobile promotions, and who increasingly recognize Al Borde as LA’s leading source for rock en español entertainment.

Fans were captivated by Curanderos’ acoustic rendition of their cult following favorites “One Last Cigarette” and “Perro”. The concert also included an opening performance by Niña Azufre, an up-and-coming LA-based quartet who almost stole the show with their heartfelt Indie/Pop melodies that are fast taking the rock en español scene by storm.

“There are many bands that have the local Latin alternative music scene buzzing, but few have the electrifying stage presence, outstanding repertoire, and long-standing trajectory as Curanderos,” noted Melvin Ortiz, Creative Brand Manager for Al Borde. “They truly represent Al Borde’s commitment to the highest quality entertainment and point the way to what we have in store for 2009.”

The concert was exclusively sponsored by Monster Beverage Co., Jack Daniel’s, Toyota Matrix and El Clasificado. Al Borde’s first 2009 “Acoustic Sessions” concert is scheduled for February 27 and will feature East LA’s very own The Tender Box.
