For the fourth year, El Clasificado was recognized as one of the nation’s fastest growing inner city companies.
At the 12th annual Initiative for a Competitive Inner City (ICIC) Awards ceremony, El Clasificado was named #74 on the 100 Fastest Growing Inner City Companies in America list. This year’s award acknowledged El Clasificado’s continued mission to help build stronger communities within the Hispanic marketplace, with judging being based on the company’s compounded annual growth rate of 21% over a five year period, ability to create new jobs, and innovative business practices within new and existing products that include:
- Free Weekly Publication, El Clasificado-Current circulation above 400,000 copies per week
- Online Classified Portal, Elclasificado.com-Monthly pageviews at 3.7 million currently
- User friendly website, Pacoslist.com-A search engine optimized online directory
- Multiple Grassroots Events, including the Su Socio de Negocios Series, educating Hispanic small business owners to help their companies grow and flourish
The summit which took place in Boston, MA on May 5, included seminars for the winners at Harvard Business School and events celebrating the positive impact these companies bring to their communities and local economies. The list will also be displayed in Bloomberg BusinessWeek later this month.
The Initiative for a Competitive Inner City (ICIC) is a national non-for-profit organiziation that was founded in 1994 by Harvard Business School Professor Michael Porter. In the last 12 years, 607 different companies have earned positions on the Inner City 100 list, collectively generating more than $27.2 billion in revenues and creating nearly 72,000 new jobs.
