El Clasificado and Cerritos College witnessed an impressive turnout as more than 400 individuals attended the job fair organized by El Clasificado. Despite bad weather, the event drew attendees eager to explore employment opportunities and educational prospects.
Featuring over 20 companies including Toyota, Macy’s, and Southern California Edison, the bilingual job fair served as a vital union connecting job seekers with employment agencies, governmental bodies, and educational resources. Attendees explored a diverse range of job openings and training programs.
For Carlos Esquivel, a loyal reader of El Clasificado for over three decades, discovering the event through the publication. “It’s an extremely useful resource for job hunting and educational pursuits,” he remarked, accompanied by his wife in hopes of securing new employment.
Similarly, Rosa Sánchez, a recent immigrant from Nicaragua, envisioned a career that would facilitate her integration into American society. “Though I’ve found temporary work, I aspire to explore broader horizons,” she expressed, noting the abundant opportunities in Los Angeles.
Representing Rivera Systems Education, Janeth Buitrago acknowledged the job fair’s significance in identifying talent across various industries. “It’s not just about filling vacancies; it’s about empowering individuals to elevate their careers through education,” she emphasized.
The event featured prominent companies like Toyota and Southern California Edison, offering guidance and training to job seekers. Additionally, the California Conservation Corps (CCC) showcased its initiatives aimed at engaging young adults in environmental conservation and emergency response efforts.
Frank Zepeda, the Marketing Director of El Clasificado, praised the strong attendance as proof of the Hispanic community’s commitment to improving their career opportunities. He emphasized the involvement of organizations focused on empowering personal development and assisting young people in refining their job abilities.
El Clasificado and Empleos Latino are committed to fostering career advancement opportunities, hosting anywhere from two or more yearly job fairs. The recently concluded event marks the first of 2024, with plans for another installment in August at the San Bernardino Valley College.
