Al Borde, its sister publication, received 14 awards, including “Outstanding Less than Weekly Hispanic Magazine” and “Outstanding Entertainment Section”

Los Angeles, CA – March 31, 2003 – El Clasificado, one of the nation’s largest free Spanish weekly publications, has been awarded by the National Association of Hispanic Publications (NAHP) with five Awards of Merit for “Outstanding Classified Section,” “Outstanding Circulation Program,” “Outstanding Single Sales Sheet,” “Outstanding Media Kit,” and “Percentage Increase in Ad Dollars in 2002.”

Al Borde, a publication focused on Latin alternative rock and pop music, collected a total of 14 awards including first place awards for “Outstanding Less than Weekly Hispanic Newspaper” and “Outstanding Entertainment Section.” Al Borde also recieved various honors in the categories of Editorial, Photo & Cartoon, Design and Marketing.

Both El Clasificado and Al Borde were recognized during the NAHP’s 15th Annual Hispanic Print Media Festival  held in Las Vegas from March 19 through March 22. Over 425 publishers, advertisers and other media professionals attended the annual meeting.

Commenting on the awards, Martha C. de la Torre, CEO of both publications, stated “it is an honor to be recognized with a total of 19 awards by the NAHP, an organization dedicated to improving the quality of Hispanic publications. These awards are a reflection of the continued hard work and dedication of all our employees.”

El Clasificado is a free weekly publication that blends classifed advertising with consumer friendly editorial. El Clasificado has a weekly verified circulation of over 130,000 and is distributed throughout Los Angeles County, Orange County, and the Inland Empire to over 430,000 Spanish speaking readers.

Al Borde is a free bi-weekly publication focusing on Latin alternative rock and pop music. Al Borde is the only Latin alternative music publication with a verified circulation of 32,000 copies distributed nationally, covering mainly Los Angeles, Orange County, and the Inland Empire.

The Annual NAHP Hispanic Print Awards are the largest Hispanic media awards in the United States with publications, articles, and photos entered in over 70 print categories and 900+ entries.
