El Clasificado has ranked number 48 on the Los Angeles Business Journal’s list of Top Minority-Owned Companies for 2019, a yearly ranking of the top Los Angeles County minority-owned businesses that have more than 50 percent minority ownership.

From its roots as a small, free publication to connect buyers and sellers in East Los Angeles, El Clasificado has been able to scale both its business model and revenues, becoming a multimedia advertising and events marketing company with its core mission of making advertising in Spanish easy and affordable.

Based off of 2018 total revenue, the rankings were published in the June 3 print edition of the business journal.

In 2018, El Clasificado had $22.5 million in revenue and continues to develop and grow its portfolio of brands, including its recent re-design of Elclasificado.com, the largest online marketplace for Spanish classifieds.

El Clasificado’s business approach to help Latino communities find the products and services they need at affordable prices has been met with accolades from the 2019 Local Media Association Digital Innovation Awards for Second Place in ‘Best Social Media Strategy,’ the 2018 ICMA Marketplace Innovation Award for its online product Twyzle, the 2016 Marcia Lamb Inner City Innovation Award, being named as one of Inc Magazine’s 5000 Fastest-Growing Companies, and receiving the honor of SBA Minority Small Business Champion of the Year for the Los Angeles District in 2015.

“Working at El Clasificado has allowed employees to excel in a company that celebrates diversity in its many forms. We want to continue showing our Latino community you can start your own business, succeed, and make an impact in the community,” commented Frank Zepeda, director of marketing for El Clasificado.
