El Clasificado Responds to The Labor Shortage by Helping Latinos Get Back to Work

By August 5, 2022Company News

With the intention to decrease labor shortages, El Clasificado will be having an in-person job fair in Norwalk, CA from 9:00am to 1:00pm

Amidst an economic downturn and a global pandemic, El Clasificado and EmpleosLatino.com continue to put Latino employment at the forefront of their missions. Since 1988, both organizations have prioritized a simple, but inspiring message – helping more Latinos get back to work! The employment section at El Clasificado.com is a top category connecting job seekers with employers.

With unemployment rates rising as high as 18.8% for Latinos at the start of the pandemic, El Clasificado expanded their outreach for ways to help connect Spanish-speaking job seekers with companies looking to fill open positions in October 2020. Through Feria de Trabajo (Job Fair), El Clasificado’s first online job, over 500 registered attendees were able to experience nearly 20 live workshops to find a job or grow in their current occupation.

The success of the first online job fair led to other online events hosted in areas with high Hispanic populations, providing each attendee with resume assistance, employment workshops, and the opportunity to navigate open job positions.

Now, partnering up with one of the top 10 community colleges in the nation, El Clasificado will be hosting an in-person Job Fair at Cerritos College campus totally free to the community with companies such as Macy’s, Lucille’s BBQ, Fashion Nova, and more, looking to fill open positions with nearly 30 companies in attendance.

Besides offering quality positions in various job fields, Cerritos College will be offering a range of educational programs designed to improve career opportunities by the Adult Education and Diversity Programs.

With the still high demand to hire, El Clasificado’s audience is ready to meet the demand to help further companies fill their open positions while also helping continue to drive down the current unemployment rates for Latinos in Southern California and nationwide.
