The entrepreneur and radio host presented the steps to start a business along with a panel of experts at the Sportsmen’s Lodge in Studio City.
Manuel Ramos, businessman and radio host for Univision America, conveyed his enthusiasm to 200 entrepreneurs in Southern California gathered at the Sportsmen’s Lodge in Studio City in San Fernando Valley. The business Expo, organized by Su Socio de Negocios and El Clasificado, was focused on the essential steps for starting a business. The dynamic Spanish language seminar attracted the attention of small and medium sized business entrepreneurs and future business owners.
Ramos, accompanied by a panel of business experts, emphasized the importance of having a business plan and to be prepared to preserve the legacy and to set up a viable succession plan. He also encouraged people to take advantage of the opportunities the Hispanic market in the United States offers.
“The purchasing power of Hispanics in the US is $ 1.5 trillion, more than China, Brazil, Russia, and India,” something he called a great opportunity to continue growing and opening businesses.
The problem, in his opinion, is that many recent Latino entrepreneurs are not integrated into the system and want to continue doing business as if they were “in Mexico, Central or South America, and that does not work well in the United States.”
One expert in the panel, who also referred to this issue, was the public accountant Carlos Salazar, who said that “many Hispanics do not do things the way they should. They do not have their papers in order, and that is expensive in the long term.”
Many of the questions from the audience were directed at him, questions about what kind of corporation to use when starting a business, and what is most beneficial when it comes to paying taxes.
The next Su Socio de Negocios seminar will be held on March 18, 2015 in Bakersfield with Manuel Ramos as the keynote speaker, and April 22 in Los Angeles with Marco Antonio Regil, TV Host of “100 Latinos Dijeron”.
