Inc 500|5000 has included El Clasificado on their list of the fastest-growing private businesses in America for sixth consecutive year and now Inc.com has decided to highlight El Clasificado’s story in a featured article. They discuss the company’s beginnings, its growth and the different outlets El Clasificado uses to reach their audience.

Martha de la Torre, founder and CEO of El Clasificado, tells Inc.com how after working two years at La Opinión, sherealized the growing demand for Spanish-language products. When de la Torre founded El Clasificado with her husband, Joe Badame, she faced an initial 10-year struggle to survive due to common business startup challenges and mistakes, as well as an economic recession. But with her continued dedication, hard work and sacrifices, today the award winning company has reached revenues close to $20 million for 2011.

Inc.com also mentions the growth of the free publication by becoming a multimedia company and expanded its digital platforms focusing on print, events, web, mobile and social media channels. After years of continued sacrifice, due to the strong demand, a number of digital properties have spawned including quineanera.com (a website and magazine that helps young Latinas and their families plan their 15th birthday), Su Socio de Negocios  (a series of events that provides Hispanic entrepreneurs with business tools and workshops), Salud y Ninos (a blog, newsletter and print publication that provides insights on children’s health) and Al Borde (the cutting edge source for Latin Alternative music and entertainment news).
