Looking to open a business? Don’t miss Emprendedor LA

By March 28, 2018April 2nd, 2018Company News

The business expo Emprendedor LA, presented by Su Socio de Negocios, will take place on Wednesday, April 11 at the Quiet Cannon in Montebello.

In a booming economy, the dream of owning a company is increasingly on the rise, especially among the Latino community in the United States. In California – the home to 15 million Hispanics – that interest is more intense than ever. Between 2005 and 2011, Hispanic-owned businesses increased 43.9 percent, according to a study by the National Council of La Raza.

That’s why it’s expected that more than 1,000 prospective business owners will attend “Emprendedor LA”, a business expo organized by Su Socio de Negocios.

“We’re living an exciting time for the California and the US economies. There are more opportunities and tax incentives than ever, and that’s why we’re committed to hosting events that can inform and help the Latino community,” said Martha de la Torre, CEO and co-founder of El Clasificado, the company behind Su Socio de Negocios.

The event – free for attendees – will take place on Wednesday, April 11 from 5 pm to 9 pm at the Quiet Cannon in the city of Montebello. It will feature four prominent panelists who will discuss how to open or grow a business, how to explore options online, and how to do business with the city of Los Angeles.

The panelists are Beatriz Devis, Economic Development Specialist with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA); Miguel Acuña, Microloan Manager for the City of Los Angeles; Luis Rivera, Community Business Manager of the Mayor’s Office of Economic Development Angeles; and Julián Cañete, President and CEO of the California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce.

Each panelist will contribute with their knowledge and experience to the attendees, who come looking for ideas and guidance on how to start their own business. There will be plenty to learn about permits and licenses, fields of opportunity, technology and much more.

The Univision network will also be part of the event with a moderator for the panelists. It will be a unique opportunity to network with the growing Hispanic community in Southern California.
